Author of “A Grace Discovered”
For family and friends, you know that dealing with more than five years of loss has been the focal point for Lynette, Samuel, Olivia, and me.
Dealing with any loss presents challenges on multiple levels: physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, and perhaps even professional. So, if you like a story about people who overcome as I do, please learn about Gentry and Hadley Eddings of Charlotte, N.C.
Gentry Eddings is the worship minister at Forest Hill Church in Charlotte. The young couple’s 2-year-old son, Dobbs, and a days-old newborn the Eddings named Reed died in a recent car accident. Reed was delivered by emergency C-section because Hadley was 8 months pregnant at the time of the wreck.
While the couple also sustained injuries in the crash, the Lord allowed them to survive. Matthew Deans, the man driving the truck that caused the accident, faces several charges.
During the Celebration of Life service on Sunday, the father publicly forgave Deans.
I love this story of loss, faith, endurance, perseverance, and now forgiveness. Obviously the Eddings must be bathed in prayer because the loss they are dealing with just begun. And while their story gained media attention, how many other stories of loss do not receive headlines? It happens every day.
We covet your prayers as we navigate this season, too. We have deep gratitude for the people from Chautauqua County, N.Y., Northeast Ohio, the Austin, Texas area, the Columbia, South Carolina area, and points in between who have purchased and read my book: “A Grace Discovered: Perseverance During Our Season of Loss.” The book is available as an eBook and paperback at Amazon.com. It also is available at Apple, Barnes & Noble and all major online book distributors.
Please order your copy of the Print on Demand paperback at Amazon.com. And once you read it, please consider giving it a review.
Please share the book by word-of-mouth and share other stories of people overcoming loss.
